Built in support of the open-source hardware community

Open designs, made ready to certify.

The Verifab3D catalogue takes valuable open-source hardware designs and builds the complete quality-control documentation needed to print them safely — free to download. Print anywhere, verify the parts yourself, or have Verifab3D certify them. Your choice.

Why this exists. Open hardware makes a design free — but for a critical or clinical part, a free design isn't enough on its own. Someone still has to do the unglamorous, essential work: validate the design, lock down how it should be printed, and build the quality checks that let a printed part be trusted. We do that work for carefully selected open designs, and give the documentation away.

Every listing comes with a full, downloadable QC package. Use it to run your own quality control, or send your finished print to Verifab3D for an independent, signed certification — whichever you prefer. The designs stay open; we simply make them safe to rely on.

Two ways to use it

Verify it yourself, or let Verifab3D certify

The documentation is the same either way. The only question is whether you need an independent, third-party guarantee.

What's included

Every design ships with a full QC package

The same documentation set for each listing — everything needed to print the part correctly and prove it was made to specification.

  • STL/STEP
    Validated design files
The reviewed design, with a locked version number.
  • BOM
    Bill of Materials
Material grade, hardware, and quantities per part.
  • PROFILE
    Print profile & settings
The validated slicer parameters the part must be printed with.
  • RUBRIC
    Product QC reference
The pass / needs-correction / fail rubric this part is graded against.
  • RECORD
QC datasheet & Certificate of Conformity
The per-part record you (or Verifab3D) complete for each build.
  • GUIDE
    Inspection & photo-evidence guide
Required measurements, photo angles, and functional tests.

One package, two uses. The rubric and datasheet are what make a printed part verifiable — the difference between "printed from an open file" and "certified to a standard."

  • Doing your own QC? Everything you need is in the download.
  • Want Verifab3D to certify? We work from the exact same documents, so there are no surprises.
  • Formats are open and printable, and designed to work offline in low-connectivity settings.

Your design stays yours

We never publish a design without your agreement

Registering a design with Verifab3D does not make it public. Nothing is added to the catalogue without the owner's explicit, written consent, and you decide what is shown and when. For designs that are already open, we respect the original licence. You keep control of your work — we just help make it trustworthy.
